One thing is the same in both pictures - empty stands. Not being judgmental, just observant.

You are right on the button. The women's game is different from the men's game--women just aren't as fast and can't jump as high--but the competition is still intense and watching is still fun, especially in person. Even with that, I don't think attendance will ever be up with the men.

my grandmother was almost on a ladies' professional team, but decided to be a social gadabout instead. I wish I had a picture of those uniforms to send you. That would have been in the Twenties or something, probably as good as a hoochy-koo back then!

That's neat about your grandmom. I hope you took a moment to wander over to the sport blog to access the link. They had pics of unis dating back to the 40s. Interestingly, in some of those supposedly more restrained times, the uniforms left the midriff bare--caused quite a scandal at times!
