Hoarded Cats

All these cats pictured in this post were in a hoarding situation, in a home crowded with other cats. Despite that they are beautiful friendly cats, although not without quirks. Many of them have modified wedge heads and oriental type coats, suggesting Siamese or Oriental Shorthair heritage.

This orange and white tabby is playful and very active.

This cat is missing one of her back feet--she arrived at the shelter that way. However, she gets around fine, and loves pets and head butts.

Check out this athletic move while playing with a toy mouse!

This beautiful girl has a bobbed tail. She looks like a Burmese with her big yellow eyes and gorgeous soft black coat.

All the cats from this hoarding situation have "bear" in their name somewhere. Check them out on line at www.waysidewaifs.org or go to the shelter at 3901 Martha Truman Road in south Kansas City. The phone number is 816-761-8151.

Oh, I am such a sucker when it comes to animals who need love and a good home.
If I live by myself. I would probably wind us as the 'cat man" of the area..
They're so darned cute.
Wish I could take em all home.

Cute pictures, too.

Have a great labor Day.

Love cats. I owe a debt of gratitude to all the people in KC who work so tirelessly to give these beautiful friends, (and dogs also) a chance I fear I'll never be able to repay.

I have had as many as six (6)--don't tell the city!--but now have only three. It is so good knowing they are well cared for at this shelter which rarely euthanises any more. I now know what my limits are, and respect them, out of love for the animals.

Thanks for coming by

I did not know the awesomeness of that shot until I downloaded it onto the computer and could see it on the 15 inch screen. What an athletic move, especially since Kitty is missing her right hind foot! She's got air, and is using her forefeet as pivot points. How graceful!

Thanks for stopping by.

Steve:
I've adopted from Wayside Waifs, way back in 1990, when the cats were in a small ranch house that was on the property. If you read Wayside's history, they came very close to having to close, before they build the building they have now. Thank God that so many do care for stray and homeless animals, and we can find homes for them.

I don't have much money, but I take time to blog about Wayside--it's my small way to serve them, and to thank them for 17 fabulous years from the cat I adopted.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing such great feelings.
