BoyCat at the vet hospital.
Well, the BoyCat is doing much better. His urinary catheter was removed this morning, and his IV taken out this afternoon. I got a chance to visit with him this afternoon around 1700. He recognized me and wanted pets, and to headbutt me--he loves doing that. While I was there, he took a whiz! He should come home tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone for the prayers and well wishes. In order to pay for his care, I'll probably have to go into a retirement savings. There will be a tax penalty for that, so I'm not happy about that, but I might take out enough to deal with some other issues too.
I am going to look into Pet Health Insurance, at least some sort of emergency coverage so I never have to consider euthanasia for an acute and dangerous but treatable problem in a young healthy animal ever again.

dear The Observer,
Oh, I'm so glad that BoyCat is all right! And big bummer for the rest of the news.
I hope that much of this bad news proves unnecessary. Thank you so much for the update.
I will keep thinking of you!!

Aw, geez...Another CUTE CAT picture.
You guys KNOW how to play up to the St. Francis in me, don'cha?
He's SOOOooooocute...I wanna hug him and bump heads.
He's got such an expressive face!
(and a boo-boo on his paw)
Sorry to hear about the savings "dive"...I'm sure it's not going to flare up again...just try and keep the "ash" content of his diet low (yeah, I learned to read cat food cans).
It's never a good thing to loose a pet when you don't have to.
You guys have a great weekend...and hug him for me.
(and my cats say "meow")
Ann T and Bob G:
Thank you again for all the good wishes. He came home this morning. He was happy to be home, all purring and wanting lots of loving. I even think GirlCat was glad to see him. (She'll stop being glad the moment he takes after her feet, as he does sometimes.)
As far as the money, well, I wish I don't have to do it, but ya do what ya gotta do. If I had more coming in...but that is a whole nother story.
I laughed when I looked over the blog. In the last three entries, there are four pictures of BoyCat/Observer kitty. Good thing he's handsome!
You all have a great weekend too!

Hello! I'm just a random passing person skimming blogs to make the time past by....however I read your post about your cat. I'm glad it's doing better! I just wanted to let you know about CreditCare (I not selling them or anything) but it's used for vets and human health services. Depending on the cost of what visit you put on it, it gives a couple months to pay it off with no intrest. For example, my ER Vet bill was just over $100 and they gave three months to pay it off. If it's higher then they give you longer...
It's saved my bank account a couple times and it would just kill me if I had to put down a pet due to money, so I just thought I would share...
